Bridging Course in Mathematics

A large number of students, who would otherwise pursue University Education through the privately sponsored students program (PSSP) are denied entry because of their poor performance in Mathematics in their KCSE.  To solve this problem, VIP and MMUST are offering a bridging course to assist the affected students upgraded this score.

Admission Requirements:

Candidates with a Mean Grade of C+ in KCSE and have passed with a minimum of D- will qualify for consideration.  Students with lesser qualification that stated above and would like to join Tertiary colleges are eligible to apply provided their mean grade is not lower that a C- with a D- in Mathematics.

Programme Structure:

The course has five  modules and students will be required to take one module per week.  The students will. There will be a week specifically set aside for exams in which each module will be tested  separately

be accorded two weeks of revision upon completion of the modules and two weeks to prepare for examinations or jointly depending on the arrangement of the concerned lecturers.  In total this study will run for a period of 10 weeks (two months and a half).

Examinations

Examinations shall be set, moderated, externalized and marked by MMUST who shall award the certificate. MMUST examination regulations shall apply. Successful graduands shall qualify for admission into relevant programmes at a higher level.
